Scenario 1 - A School has been underperforming for 3 or more years

  • Year 1 - a new “program” initiated and there was a small jump (less than 10%tile points) in student achievement scores
  • Year 2 - increase in achievement scores was maintained but no additional growth
  • Year 3 - achievement shows a slight dip - sporadic implementation of new “program”
  • Year 4 - sporadic implementation and regression of student achievement continues
  • Year 5 - another new “program” is introduced and there is slight increase in student achievement

  • Initiated a new “program” without consulation with teachers
  • Year 1 - No change in student achievement, high teacher frustration with the new program and teachers are fighting implementation

  • Year 3 - Everything back the way it as before the “change” without improvement in achievement
